Javed finishes 34th in Ist Gurgaon Intl. Chess

FM Mohammad Javed became 34th in the 1st Gurgaon Open International Chess Tournament with seven points as he got walk over against IM Akshayraj Kore of India in the 10th round match held at Gurgaon in Haryana, India on Thursday.

Bangladeshi GM Niaz Murshed finished 39th and Mohammad Ali 50th in the Indian meet securing 6.5 points each.

Debaraj Chatterjee became 69th with 6 points while Monir Hossain on 5 points was placed 161st.

In the 10th round matches, Mohammad Ali beat FM Khamzin Olzhas of Kazakistan Debaraj, drew with IM Prathamesh Sunil Mokal of India, Monir drew with Niraj Niraula of Nepal while Niaz lost to Akash Kumar of India.

GM Kuzubov of Ukraine emerged champion, GM Alexander Areshchenko of Ukraine finished runner-up, IM RR Luxman of India became 3rd, GM Smagambetov Anuar of Kazakistan became 4th while GM Neelotpal Das of India was placed 5th.

A total of 298 players, including 12 grand masters and 23 international masters from 12 countries took part in the meet.
