Inld Had Ignored Brahmins, Says Hooda

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda exhorted the people to imbibe the ideals and principles of Bhagwan Parshuram, so that the poor get quick justice and Haryana becomes a progressive state.

Hooda was addressing a gathering at a function organised by the Jagrit Brahman Sabha, Panchkula, to celebrate Parshuram Jayanti at Sector 12-A here today.

While referring the treatment meted out to the Brahmins by the previous government, Hooda said not a single ticket was given to a Brahmin candidate by the Indian National Lok Dal in the last Vidhan Sabha elections. He said there had been no Cabinet minister from the Brahmin community in Haryana since 1991.

He announced a grant of Rs 10 lakh from his discretionary fund and Rs 1 lakh on the behalf of PWD Minister Venod Sharma for the construction of Parshuram Bhawan.

Later, while replying to a question on the case registered against Abhay Singh Chautala, the Chief Minister said the case has not been registered against him with a political vendetta. He said action would be taken against all those found guilty. The law would take its own course, he added.

PWD and Power Minister Venod Sharma and Deputy Chief Minister Chander Mohan were also present at the function, besides Bhiwani MLA Shiv Shankar Bhardwaj, Narnaud MLA Ram Kumar Gautam, Additional Advocate General Kamal Sharma, Chairman of the Haryana Ayurvedic Board Sanjay Attri and Rakesh Sharma.
