Haryana acquires more land in Bawal industrial belt

In an effort to end congestion in the industrial areas of Gurgaon and Faridabad, Haryana has decided to develop other industrial belts in the state.

As a first step, the Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation (HSIDC) would develop additional 1,000 acres at Bawal, an industrially backward belt in Rewari.

As part of its policy to develop less industrialised areas, the government has acquired 1,000 acres of land to expand the 1200-acre Bawal Industrial Growth Centre, using fast track mechanisms. The HSIDC would develop this land in a phased manner to meet the unprecedented land demand from MNCs and domestic companies. Prominent companies operating in Bawal include YKK, Nerolac Paints, Becton Dickinson, and REI Agro.

The centre also has dedicated sectors for housing, institutional and commercial activities. Land has already been allotted to cooperative group housing societies to meet the housing requirments of workers. The corporation has also allotted five acres of land to the Haryana Housing Board to set up residential colonies for workers.
