I am amazed at the lack of concern of basic civic services in Gurgaon, particularly of Sector 21.
For the past 4 days - including today i.e. 24th of January 2007 - there is no water supply in Sector 21, Gurgaon, Haryana, India.
Is someone listening?
Isn’t Gurgaon supposed to be the IT/ITeS capital of India. Isn’t India supposed to be the ITeS capital of the world.
Is this what we should expect in the leading developing (so called emerging superpower of the world) country.
And we are not referring to a village in Gurgaon.
We are mentioning the state of affairs in a Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) Sector in Gurgaon. Is it still called that or shall we call it Hurriedly Un Developed Authority(HUDA).
I am asking you, the so called administration of Gurgaon - can we expect to be given water, if not electricity or sewerage or roads.
Is that too much to expect from a civilised government of this country - WATER?
It is time someone called water my fundamental right - we keep talking of education as a right?
When I pay my taxes, pay by water bills and listen to all that bull **** that my parliamentarians and politicians dish out in elections and in the Rep. Houses, the least I expect is for them to ACT for my very BASIC NEEDS.
As a nation, we seem to be too pre occupied with the stock exchange, the real estate and the so called call center boom in the country to even think of getting BASIC HUMAN REQUIREMENTS - starting with water and not excluding electricity, roads and some other infrastructure.
It is also time that the ‘vested interests’ of this country wake up and smell the coffee. If you are going to sell 1 Crore Rupee houses in this part of the world, please start by checking if there is a supply of water, here!!!
This part of the country and the whole country as a whole seems like a personification of a human form with a Christion Dior neck-tie on his silk shirt with a torn underwear in place of his pants.
In the recent past, another factor is adding to the overburdened and hardly tarred roads of HUDA sectors.
The parking of heavy vehicles like trucks.
This trend is especially evident in Sector 21 and Sector 22 - truckers are using these sectors to park a large number of dumper trucks and other trucks.
It is causing road blocks as well as security concerns for the residents. Imagine a couple of trucks parked in front of your house and being ‘guarded’ by truck drivers!
As if we did not have road issues, already. To say that the sector roads are badly maintained would be an understatement. If we have heavy vehicles parked on them, they add to the travelling woes of the residents.
There is an increasing tendency in our society of ‘bulldozing’. It is evident here too - try arguing with these truckers to move their trucks and you will realise how ‘tough’ they are.
I wonder why the cops are not aware of this. Or if they are aware of it, why are they looking the other way.
Some of these trucks are parked for months, together. Could these be stolen trucks or could these trucks be hidden because they are involved in accidents?
These are questions, that I, as a citizen, need answers from. I hope this forum will escalate the issue to the concerned people in administration/police for some action and answers.
I would like to bring to your attention the sufferings of thousands
of people in Gurgaon and Faridabad because the registration of independent floor
properties has been banned for the last several years. A very large number of
people have been allotted such floors by big builders like Ansals, DLF,
Unitech, Parsavnath and others throughout Gurgaon and Faridabad. Moreover independent floors are registered in Delhi, U.P. and Punjab so why should it be any different in Haryana. To create an atmosphere of openness, fair dealings and thereby hastened pace of investment for rapid infrastructure development, it is crucial that all independent floors that have been allotted so far must be registered with the government. Who is ever going to buy peoperty in Gurgaon when it cannot be registered? It is a question of sufferings of thousands of people who genuinely paid their hard-earned money for such floors to fulfil their dreams that directly and indirectly contributed hugely to the increased pace of development which benefits everybody today/tomorrow. Lots of people have expressed their sufferings due to this issue through internet/newspapers and directly submitting requests to the authorities but no action has been taken. It is social injustice. The government is also losing revenue from this.
The Haryana Government must open the registration of independent floors in Gurgaon and Faridabad.
I was reading your articles on the opposition to the establishment of Reliace Fresh, particularly the opposition of the Haryana Pradesh Beopar Mandal.
I am doing a project on the issue of local vendors versus Reliance Fresh and other such retail supermarkets and would like to know if there is anyway i could contact the Haryana Pradesh Beopar Mandalm either by email or by telephone.
Please help me out.
Thanks.
Our office has shifted to Udyog-nagar. Being in the same area as HSIDC and Hilton, I am disgusted to find that the footpaths and roads are strewn with paper, food wastes, human wastes and you name it. With so many offices around, can we not have some CLEANLINESS in the area? i USED TO SEE SOME PIGS AROUND, FORTUNATELY THEY ARE NOT VISIBLE ANYMORE.
Is someone listening or is this a cry in the wilderness?
