It was sheer chance that got Gurgaon resident Vineet Juneja out of the clutches of abductors, in a dramatic rescue carried out by vigilant shopkeepers in Ambala on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old resident of Windsor Estate, DLF phase V, employed with IBM Daksh, was found bundled in the boot of a Hyundai Accent, that belonged to him, with his mouth gagged and hands and feet tied. While one of the abductors has been arrested, the other managed to flee.
Juneja told the police that he had landed at the Delhi airport from the US on Monday night and was returning in his car, which was parked at the airport itself, around 3 am when he was abducted.
According to the police, four people forced Juneja to a halt by stopping their Indica in front of his car. Abandoning their own vehicle, they tied Juneja, stuffed him in the boot of his car, and drove the Accent to Ambala. Two of the people got off en route.
