Haryana paddy arrival stands at 22.93 lakh tonnes

As many as 22.93 lakh tonnes of paddy has arrived in the mandis of Haryana during the current Kharif season upto October 20, 2008, an official spokesman said here on Tuesday.

He said that out of the total, 13,81,984 tonnes had been procured by Government Agencies at the minimum support price and the remaining 9,11,905 tonnes had been purchased by the private millers and traders, which included 2,71,145 tonnes leviable and 6,40,760 tonnes non leviable paddy.

He said that Hafed had procured 5,66,607 tonnes paddy while Food and Supplies Department managed 4,23,279 tonnes, Haryana Agro Industries Corporation 1,39,460 tonnes, Haryana Warehousing Corporation 54,727 tonnes, Food Corporation of India 4,496 tonnes and Confed 1,93,415 tonnes of paddy.

He said that district Kurukshetra was leading with 5,64,264 tonnes, followed by Karnal 4,25,772 tonnes, Fatehabad 3,37,694 tonnes, Kaithal 2,67,002 tonnes, Ambala 2,16,560 tonnes, Yamunanagar 1,53,473 tonnes, Sirsa 84,373 tonnes.

Jind procured 70,370 tonnes, Faridabad 51,588 tonnes, Panipat 65,425 tonnes, Panchkula 25,258 tonnes, Sonipat 19,140 tonnes, Hisar 10,135 tonnes, Mewat 1,399 tonnes, Rohtak 848 tonnes and Gurgaon 228 tonnes of paddy.

Similarly, 3,24,001 metric tonnes of Bajra has arrived in the mandis of the State during current Kharif season up to October 20.
