Cong will win all three bypolls, predicts Hooda

Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today said the Congress would win the byelection to all the three Assembly seats, which have fallen vacant due to disqualification of three legislators from the state Assembly recently.

Since three legislators of Haryana, namely Dharam Pal Malik, Ramesh Kamboj and Bhajan Lal, had been disqualified from the membership of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha recently, their seats had fallen vacant.

Interacting with mediapersons in the press lobby of the state Assembly here today, Hooda said it was up to the Election Commission of India to decide the date, but he expected these along with that of elections in Karnataka in May.

Hooda expressed shock and grief over the demise of M.L. Koser, an exponent of Indian dance and a veteran journalist. In a condolence message issued here today, the Chief Minister said Koser was not only a great exponent of Indian dance, but also a brilliant scholar of classical literature.

The CM also expressed his concern about the poor sections of society and said he was considering how to enhance their living standard and how to generate ample employment opportunities. He said there should be decorum for the smooth conduct of the state Assembly.

Hooda said he had laid stress on development of basic infrastructure, especially in the areas of distribution of water, power generation and education. Canals like Hansi Butana link channel, Dadupur Nalvi Canal and Mewat Canal were being constructed.
