Haryana Assembly votes budgetary demands

The Haryana Vidhan Sabha on Thursday voted budgetary demands pertaining to different departments for the next financial year 2008-09 after an extensive discussion.

The main opposition INLD was not present in the second sitting of the day when these demands, totalling Rs 23,717.77 crore, were moved by Finance Minister Birender Singh and various other ministers.

The INLD had walked out in protest against certain remarks by the Speaker after he had allowed them to raise some of the issues.

The demands pertain to Vidhan Sabha, general administration, revenue, excise and taxation, finance and various other departments.

Appropriation Bill for the new budget will be moved by the Finance Minister in the House on Friday.
