Over 300 paramilitary personnel have arrived here to mainitain law and order situation in the district in view of agitation by the Gujjars.
The companies undertook Flag March on significant road routes, including the Jaipur National Highway No 8. The Flag March was also conducted on the roads going to Faridabad, Sohna and Mahrauli to Delhi.
Senior Superintendent of Police Hanif Quarishi said that the police are alert and no untoward incident in the district has been reported so far. “The situation was under control and the police patrolling on important routes has been increased,” he said.
Deputy Commissioner Rakesh Gupta has appealed the Gujjar community to maintain peace during agitation.
Meanwhile, the Gujjars blocked road at village Nathupur and Maruti Kunj on Sohna road for a few minutes. The City Magistrate Narender Yadav rushed to the spot and took the memorandum after which the blockade was removed.
