With Haryana once again facing a power crisis the Dakshin Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (DHBVN) has decided to regulate the power supply.
Though unscheduled power shutdowns were taking place for the past several days, scheduled cuts will now be imposed on domestic, non-domestic and industrial consumers in the state with immediate effect.
With most hydel power projects in the northern region not generating enough power, Haryana is facing an acute power shortage, ranging from 35 to 100 lakh units per day. Power cuts will be imposed in order to ensure adequate power supply across the state.
A spokesman of the DHBVN said here today that the duration of power cuts in urban areas will not exceed 90 minutes at one go.
The total duration of all power cuts will be 3.30 hours a day. In Gurgaon Zone-I, power supply can be restricted from 2 to 3 am, 5.30 to 6 am, 9 to 10.30 am, 3 to 4 pm and 7.30 to 8 pm. In Gurgaon Zone-II, the supply can be restricted from 1 to 2 am, 6.30 to 7 am, 10.30 am to 12 noon, 4 to 5 pm and 7.30 to 8 pm.
In rural areas, the DHBVN has scheduled power supply for at least 13 hours a day, including a three-phase supply for five hours a day.
The three-phase supply in rural areas in Group-I of Operation Circle, Gurgaon, will be given from midnight to 4 am, 2.30 to 3.30 pm. In Group-II of district Gurgaon, 7 to 11 am and 4 to 5 pm.
