From homemakers to their own housing society
NO men please, this is exclusively for women. And no, this is not a kitty party or a women’s leisure club. This is an all women’s housing society, the only one of its kind among the over 5,000-odd applicants of group housing societies in Haryana.
From lawyers to doctors, architects, academicians, administrators and other professionals, this society has a long list of women who, rather than joining the market for a flat, have opted for the more unconventional way of setting up a housing society.

‘’We are celebrating women empowerment, especially with this year also being observed as the year of the women in Haryana,'’ said Archana Sanghi, president of the Shree Bhu All Women’s Housing Welfare Society (Haryana).
Sanghi, an entrepreneur, said the society members have applied for GHS at various places in the State including Panchkula, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Panipat and Sonepat. All applications have only women members, she added. For instance, the GHS application in Panchkula has 72 women members.
While all women societies do not enjoy any reservation for GHS or freehold plots in Haryana, Sanghi said they too were averse to the idea of any such privilege.
More than the prospect of owning a flat or making money out of the Haryana Urban Development Authority’s offer of low-priced housing flats in the State, Sanghi said the concept of an all-women’s group housing society evokes a sense of joy among the members.
